(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A homeless man was arrested early Thursday morning following an assault on the city’s East Side.
Jamestown Police officers responded to a reported assault at approximately 12:09 a.m. on April 3. The investigation determined that Mark R. Burch Jr., 32, had assaulted a victim using a can of beans before fleeing the scene.
Officers located Burch a short time later and took him into custody without further incident. He was charged with Assault in the 2nd Degree and transported to the city jail, where he is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
