(WNY News Now) – The Jamestown Justice Coalition will be holding a rally on Saturday, April 5, at Dow Park in Jamestown, N.Y. to help convey the impact that national topics have on a local level.

Jamestown, N.Y. – On April 5, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Jamestown Justice Coalition will be holding a “Remove, Reverse, Reclaim” rally at Dow Park in Jamestown. The goal of the rally will be to shed light on how federal actions and policies can impact local communities.
“But really, it’s how do we engage people locally to get them more involved in their communities as well as in the civic discourse.” Said Justin Hubbard, Coalition Coordinator in an interview with WNY News Now. “It’s got to start in Jamestown, and all of our speakers will be doing that. They’re not going to get onto these big diatribes about Washington D.C. They’re going to be talking to people about how the policies and decisions in D.C. are affecting us here in Jamestown and the rest of Chautauqua County.”
Topics that will be discussed during the rally and the impact they have on the local community will be things like immigration, veterans’ programs, arts programming, disability aid, and education.
This rally will be part of the larger 50501 movement (50 States, 50 Protests, 1 Movement), which came into existence earlier this year in response to actions taken by the new administration. Saturday will be the largest mobilization that the movement has put forth so far, and they expect to see similar rallies in all 50 state capitals in addition to other local rallies. In Western New York, there will be a rally in Fredonia, beginning at 3 p.m., as well as rallies in Cattaraugus County and the Buffalo area.
Dow Park will mark a return to the Jamestown Justice Coalition’s roots, where they first started five years ago following the murder of George Floyd. The coalition is made up of community members who seek to be a voice for the marginalized. They have previously held rallies for the Black Lives Matter movement, LGBTQ+ Pride, and women’s rights. More recently, they have been holding community conversations at the Robert H. Jackson Center to further discuss local issues.
The rally is open to the public, and all of our elected officials have been invited, from City Council in Jamestown all the way up to Congressman Nick Langworthy. The coalition hopes that our officials or representatives from their offices will be in attendance, and they encourage as many members of the community as possible to join in.
