(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY — A 35-year-old Jamestown woman faces multiple charges after resisting arrest during a street check early Saturday morning.
On April 5, 2025, at around 4:07 a.m. on the south side of the city, Kanisha V. Pintagro, of Jamestown, was observed by officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Third Platoon. Officers had been on patrol when they recognized Pintagro, who was wanted on an active warrant for failing to appear in Jamestown City Court.
Upon approaching Pintagro, officers informed her of the warrant. However, Pintagro attempted to mislead officers by providing false identification. As officers attempted to arrest her, she physically resisted but was eventually taken into custody after a brief struggle.
A subsequent search revealed a quantity of methamphetamine and cocaine on Pintagro’s person. She was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where she is being held pending arraignment on charges including two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, Resisting Arrest, and False Personation.
Pintagro is set to appear in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
