(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A Jamestown woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of a property damage accident while intoxicated early Sunday morning.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the 3rd Platoon responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on the city’s Eastside at approximately 3:41 a.m. on April 6, 2025. The female driver was reported to have fled the scene, heading south on foot.

Police located the suspect a short distance from the crash site and identified her as Samantha L. Baird, 32, of Jamestown. An investigation revealed that Baird had been operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

Baird was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, and Moving from Lane Unsafely. She was also issued a citation for consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Baird is currently being held in the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
