(WNY News Now) – The cause of a residential fire in the Town of Ellington early Tuesday morning remains undetermined after crews battled flames at a home on West Main Street.
ELLINGTON, NY – April 15, 2025 – Firefighters from the Town of Ellington and surrounding mutual aid departments responded to a structure fire at 785 W Main Street just after midnight on Tuesday.
According to authorities, the call came in at approximately 12:43 a.m. for a residential fire. Crews arrived on scene to find the home actively burning and quickly worked to extinguish the flames.
Once the fire was brought under control, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was called to the location to determine the origin and cause of the blaze.
Investigators confirmed that the fire started in a first-floor bedroom. However, the exact cause remains unknown, and officials have ruled the fire as undetermined at this time.
