(WNY News Now) – A routine traffic stop on Route 380 led to the arrest of a Sinclairville man for multiple alcohol-related offenses.

STOCKTON, NY – A 34-year-old man from Sinclairville is facing several charges, including aggravated driving while intoxicated, after being stopped by Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies on Route 380 in the Town of Stockton.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at approximately 6:05 p.m. on Sunday, April 20. Deputies conducted a traffic stop after observing the vehicle committing multiple traffic violations, including failure to keep right and unsafe lane movement.

The driver, identified as Alexander J. Peden, was determined to be operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Further investigation revealed that Peden’s license was suspended, resulting in an additional charge of aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree.

Peden was taken into custody and formally charged with Aggravated DWI, DWI, AUO 3rd, Failure to Keep Right, Moving from Lane Unsafely, and Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle.

He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Stockton Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
