(WNY News Now) – A late-night welfare check by Jamestown Police led to the arrest of a Tidioute man for driving while intoxicated.

JAMESTOWN – On Thursday, May 1, 2025, at approximately 11:49 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon responded to a suspicious vehicle parked near the intersection of Harrison Street and Institute Street.

Police observed a male slumped over in the driver’s seat. Upon making contact, officers identified the individual as 49-year-old Christopher S. Fulkman of Tidioute, Pennsylvania. After a brief investigation, officers determined that Fulkman was under the influence of alcohol.

He was subsequently arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. Fulkman is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
