(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges following a domestic disturbance involving forced entry and physical assault.
JAMESTOWN, NY – On May 17, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon responded to a reported domestic dispute at a residence on the city’s south side.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that 32-year-old Jamestown resident Chaze A. Johnson had forcibly entered the home while armed with a baseball bat. According to investigators, Johnson assaulted the victim during a physical altercation, including choking and biting, and prevented the victim from calling 911 by taking their phone. The suspect also reportedly damaged the victim’s eyeglasses and front door.
Johnson was taken into custody at the scene without further incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.
He is charged with the following:
- Burglary in the First Degree (Felony)
- Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree (Two Counts)
- Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree
- Criminal Obstruction of Breathing (Two Counts)
- Assault in the Third Degree
Johnson was held in Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
