(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man was arrested Wednesday morning following a 911 hang-up call that led police to a reported assault at an Eastside residence.

JAMESTOWN – On May 21, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department responded to a 911 hang-up call from an Eastside residence, prompting an immediate investigation.

Upon arrival, officers from the department’s first platoon discovered evidence of a physical altercation. Their investigation determined that 34-year-old Luis A. Deleon-Lopez, a Jamestown resident, had unlawfully entered the home of a female victim and assaulted her.

According to police, Deleon-Lopez allegedly struck the victim in the face, causing injury. He was taken into custody at the scene without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

Deleon-Lopez has been charged with Burglary in the Second Degree, a felony, and Assault in the Third Degree. He is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
