(WNY News Now) – A 25-year-old Jamestown resident was arrested early Wednesday morning following a domestic dispute that violated an active order of protection.

JAMESTOWN, NY – On May 21, 2025, at approximately 5:20 a.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon responded to a domestic incident at a residence on the city’s east side.

Upon arrival, officers conducted an investigation and determined that the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Michael A. Bane of Jamestown, had allegedly restrained the victim and struck them in the head, causing a laceration. Further investigation revealed that an order of protection had been issued against Bane, prohibiting him from engaging in offensive physical contact with the victim.

Bane was taken into custody at the scene without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

Bane faces the following charges:

  • Aggravated Criminal Contempt
  • Assault in the Third Degree
  • Unlawful Imprisonment

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
