(WNY News Now) – On May 21, 2025, Jamestown police arrested Adam D. Bauernfeind, 47, following a domestic dispute on the city’s Northside that resulted in multiple charges including strangulation and assault.
At approximately 11:30 p.m. on May 21, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon responded to a reported domestic incident at a Northside residence. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, authorities determined that Adam D. Bauernfeind, a 47-year-old resident of Jamestown, had strangled the victim, causing physical injury.
In addition to strangulation, Bauernfeind allegedly punched the victim and caused property damage by breaking a bathroom door inside the home. Police took Bauernfeind into custody without incident and transported him to the Jamestown City Jail.
Bauernfeind faces charges of second-degree strangulation, third-degree assault, and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
