(WNY News Now) – Mark W. Weiss, 40, of Jamestown, was charged with multiple offenses including driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop early May 23.

At approximately 12:44 a.m. on May 23, 2025, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s third platoon observed a vehicle commit a traffic infraction near the intersection of Buffalo Street and 2nd Street. The vehicle was stopped shortly after, and the driver was identified as Mark W. Weiss, a 40-year-old Jamestown resident.

During the traffic stop, officers conducted an investigation that indicated Weiss was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Weiss was taken into custody without incident and subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated per se, driving while intoxicated, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and other traffic violations.

Following the arrest, Weiss was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court to address the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
