(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown woman is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after allegedly fleeing a traffic stop and providing false identification.
JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – On the evening of May 19, 2025, at approximately 8:04 p.m., Jamestown Police Department officers initiated a traffic stop on the city’s south side that led to the arrest of 63-year-old Debra Maldonado.
According to police, Maldonado exited her vehicle during the stop and fled on foot. Officers pursued and took her into custody shortly after without further incident. During questioning, Maldonado allegedly provided a false name, which was later determined to be an attempt to conceal her identity.
Further investigation revealed that Maldonado had an active bench warrant issued by the Jamestown Police Department and was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.
Upon her arrest, officers conducted a search and reportedly discovered small quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and Suboxone films. While processing Maldonado at the Jamestown City Jail, officers also found a debit card reported stolen to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
As a result, Maldonado has been charged with the following:
- Four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree
- Criminal Impersonation in the 2nd Degree
- Resisting Arrest
- Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree (Felony)
- Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd Degree
- Several Uniform Traffic Ticket violations
- One active bench warrant
Maldonado is currently being held at the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
