(WNY News Now) – A Falconer resident was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly shoplifting and exposing herself in public during a police response in Jamestown.

JAMESTOWN – On Saturday, May 31, 2025, at approximately 11:53 a.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 1st Platoon responded to a reported shoplifting in progress at a business in Brooklyn Square.

Upon arrival, officers located and apprehended 46-year-old Jessica Diaz-Hernandez of Falconer, who was accused of stealing merchandise valued at $200.46. During the investigation, Diaz-Hernandez allegedly pulled down her pants and urinated on the sidewalk in full view of officers and bystanders.

She was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where she was charged with Petit Larceny and Public Lewdness.

Further checks revealed that Diaz-Hernandez had multiple outstanding bench warrants issued by the Jamestown, Dunkirk, and Fredonia police departments.

Following her arraignment in Jamestown City Court, Diaz-Hernandez was committed to the Chautauqua County Jail. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
