(WNY News Now) – A 24-year-old Jamestown woman was taken into custody early Saturday morning after fleeing from officers attempting to arrest her on an outstanding warrant.
JAMESTOWN, NY – On Saturday, May 31, 2025, at approximately 1:19 a.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s third platoon encountered Samantha J. Lugo, 24, walking on the city’s west side. Officers recognized Lugo and were aware of an active arrest warrant issued by Jamestown City Court.
Authorities also observed that Lugo was accompanied by an individual whom she was legally ordered to avoid under an active order of protection. When officers attempted to make contact, Lugo fled on foot. A brief foot pursuit followed, after which she was taken into custody without further incident.
Lugo was transported to the Jamestown City Jail. In addition to the outstanding warrant, she is now facing new charges of Resisting Arrest and Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree.
She is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
