(WNY News Now) – FALCONER – A Falconer man is facing charges following an alleged assault that left a victim with facial and hand injuries.

According to the Town of Ellicott Police Department, officers responded to a reported incident on East Falconer Street on June 8, 2025. The investigation led to the arrest of 37-year-old Joseph M. Taylor, who is accused of punching a victim in the face and biting the victim’s right hand. Authorities say the victim sustained lacerations to both the face and hand.

Taylor later turned himself in to the Ellicott Police Department. He was charged with Assault in the Third Degree, a class A misdemeanor under New York State law.

Police say Taylor was booked and released with an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to answer the charge. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
