(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown resident is facing charges after allegedly shoplifting from a business in the Town of Ellicott.

The Town of Ellicott Police Department has charged 47-year-old Sarah E. Johnson of Jamestown with Petit Larceny following a reported shoplifting incident on June 6, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m.

Officers responded to a local business in the Town of Ellicott after receiving a report of an individual allegedly leaving the premises without paying for merchandise. Following an investigation, police identified Johnson as the suspect.

Johnson was taken into custody and processed at the Town of Ellicott Police Department. She was subsequently released with an appearance ticket.

She is scheduled to appear in Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to respond to the charge. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
