(WNY News Now) – John Tenamore, 44, of Dunkirk, received a 3 to 6-year indeterminate prison sentence on June 9 after pleading guilty to third-degree burglary for a 2021 break-in in Pomfret.

On June 9, 2025, John Tenamore was sentenced in Chautauqua County Court by Judge David W. Foley to an indeterminate state prison term of three to six years following his conviction for burglary in the third degree. The case stems from a burglary that took place in May 2021 in the Town of Pomfret.

Tenamore was initially arraigned in March 2024 on charges of burglary in the second degree. However, on September 5, 2024, he pled guilty to the lesser charge of burglary in the third degree.

District Attorney Jason Schmidt acknowledged the efforts of the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in assisting with the case.
