(WNY News Now) – Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced that Luis Gonzalez, Jr., 25, and Kitrina Udrea, 22, both of Buffalo, have been indicted and arraigned on second-degree manslaughter charges related to the death of their 2½-month-old daughter.
Buffalo, N.Y. – On July 7, 2023, at approximately 2:42 p.m., emergency responders were called to an apartment on the 2000 block of William Street in the Town of Cheektowaga for an unresponsive infant. Londyn Gonzalez was transported to Oishei Children’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.


Both Gonzalez and Udrea face one count of Manslaughter in the Second Degree, a Class C felony. They remain held on bail set at $250,000 cash or bond. Gonzalez was arraigned before Erie County Court Judge Sheila A. DiTullio, while Udrea appeared before Judge Kenneth F. Case. Their next court appearance, a pre-trial conference before Judge DiTullio, is scheduled for July 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
If convicted, each defendant faces a potential prison sentence ranging from 5 to 15 years.
District Attorney Keane praised the Cheektowaga Police Department and Doyle Fire Company for their roles in the investigation. The prosecution is being led by Assistant District Attorneys Rebecca L. Schnirel of the Homicide Bureau and Alexander J. Trunfio of the Special Victims/Domestic Violence Bureau.
The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
