(WNY News Now) – The family of Daniel Galarza Ramos, an 11-year old boy who died after being hit by a pickup truck while riding his bike, is looking to the community for help as they raise money for Daniel’s funeral.
Jamestown, N.Y. – On Tuesday, June 17, at approximately 1:30 p.m., 11-year old Daniel Galarza Ramos was struck by a pickup truck while riding his bicycle near the intersection of Willard Street and Kinney Street in Jamestown.
After emergency responders arrived at the scene, Daniel was taken to UPMC before being airlifted to Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo to treat his critical injuries. However, Daniel passed away from his injuries the following day.
Now, Daniel’s family is reaching out to the community for assistance as they raise funds for his funeral. They need to raise approximately $3,500 by Monday, so any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
Donations can be dropped off at their home, located at 368 Willard Street in Jamestown. Alternatively, those looking to donate can send money through Cash App to Rolando Galarza, Daniel’s uncle, whose account is “$Rolli2020”.
As they mourn the loss of Daniel, his family stated to WNY News Now that they are very thankful for all of the love and support they have received from the community.
Burying a child is an experience no family should have to endure, so it is our hope that our community can help Daniel’s loved ones in any way that we can.
