(WNY News Now) – A warrant arrest escalated on Deer Street in Dunkirk, resulting in multiple charges for two city residents, including resisting arrest and criminal tampering.
DUNKIRK, N.Y. – On Thursday, June 26, 2025, at approximately 5:58 p.m., officers from the Dunkirk Police Department responded to a report of a disorderly individual at a residence on the 400 block of Deer Street.
Upon arrival, officers identified the subject as 22-year-old Arianna Thompson of Dunkirk. Police were aware that Thompson had an active arrest warrant issued by Dunkirk City Court for Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree.
When officers attempted to take Thompson into custody, she reportedly resisted arrest. During the encounter, 24-year-old Jalon K. Krupinski, also of Dunkirk, allegedly intervened by grabbing an officer and attempting to pull him away from Thompson.
Krupinski was also taken into custody after allegedly resisting officers. He was later issued an appearance ticket and charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree.
Thompson was transported to the Dunkirk Police Department headquarters and booked on her outstanding warrant. In addition, she was charged with Resisting Arrest and, after reportedly becoming disruptive in the holding cell—smearing bodily fluids and tampering with plumbing that led to flooding—she was also charged with Criminal Tampering in the Third Degree.
Thompson was arraigned the following day and subsequently released.
Both individuals are scheduled to appear in Dunkirk City Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
