(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY — A Jamestown woman was arrested during a probation visit after suspected methamphetamine was found in her possession.

Cassandra M. Hicks, 27, was taken into custody at approximately 9:54 a.m. on July 2, 2025, during a routine visit to her probation officer on the east side of the city. According to the Jamestown Police Department, Hicks was detained by probation officers after they discovered a controlled substance, later identified as methamphetamine.

Officers from the department’s 1st Platoon responded to the location and transported Hicks to the city jail. She was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a misdemeanor under New York State law.

Hicks was initially held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court and was later released. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
