Police allege suspect struck victim and damaged property during late-night incident.

(WNY News Now) – TOWN OF ELLICOTT – A Jamestown man is facing charges following a domestic dispute in West Ellicott late on the evening of July 23, 2025.

According to the Town of Ellicott Police Department, officers responded to a report of a domestic incident at approximately 11:00 p.m. Upon investigation, 53-year-old Ellery J. Bauer was taken into custody for allegedly striking the victim and causing damage to property within the residence.

Bauer was charged with Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree and Harassment in the Second Degree. He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment. Bauer is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
