(WNY News Now) – Bring the kids, spark their curiosity, and connect with nature through storytelling at Audubon Community Nature Center—at no cost.
Jamestown, N.Y. – Indoors and outside, there is so much to do at Audubon Community Nature Center.
Sundays are always free, but the first Sunday of the month offers a special opportunity: First Sunday Story Time, when you and the special 2–8 year old(s) in your life get to go on literary adventures with animals through habitats and seasons.
Nature Center doors open at 12:20 p.m. for the 12:30–1 p.m. event on Sunday, August 3. Doors open to the public at 1 p.m. The program and Sunday admission are both free.
Discovering new things with every page, children’s books are powerful tools to connect children to nature and establish a strong foundation for their educational journey.
Come for stories and stay to explore the exhibits, visit the live animals, and enjoy the indoor and outdoor Nature Play Areas.

Participation is limited to 15. Walk-ins are welcome if there is room.
Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown, N.Y., and Warren, Pa. You can visit the nearly 600-acre nature preserve, check in on the live birds of prey, enjoy the native tree arboretum, gardens, picnic area, and hike the more than five miles of trails dawn until dusk daily for free.
The three-story Nature Center building houses interactive displays, a collection of live animals including the Hellbender exhibit, and the Blue Heron Gift Shop. Visitors are welcome Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m.–4:30 p.m., and Sundays, 1–4:30 p.m. Nature Center members and SNAP/EBT cardholders have free building admission daily. Building admission is also free every Sunday for non-Nature Center members.
