Police discover fentanyl and methamphetamine during routine patrol on East Second Street

(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown man is facing drug possession charges following a police investigation into a suspicious situation involving a parked vehicle on the city’s east side.

On August 2, 2025, at approximately 7:10 p.m., officers with the Jamestown Police Department were conducting a routine patrol near East 2nd Street and Curtis Street when they observed multiple individuals slumped over inside a stationary vehicle. Officers approached the vehicle to conduct a welfare check on the occupants.

During the investigation, police identified one of the individuals as 38-year-old Alexander L. Digirolamo of Jamestown. A search revealed that Digirolamo was allegedly in possession of quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Digirolamo was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a class A misdemeanor in New York State.

Digirolamo was released with an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date to face the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
