(WNY News Now) – On August 1, 2025, a North East, PA woman was charged with harassment after a confrontation at Barcelona Beach involving a reported theft of an engagement ring.
WESTFIELD, NY — Officers from the Village of Westfield Police Department responded to a larceny report on August 1 at approximately 2:25 PM near the Barcelona Pier, located at 8212 Route 5. The complaint involved an alleged theft of an engagement ring from a vehicle parked in the area.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the complainant, who stated that an unknown male on the beach had taken her engagement ring. Police located the male suspect, who cooperated fully and voluntarily allowed officers to examine several rings in his possession. None matched the description of the missing ring.
During the interaction, the complainant, identified as 33-year-old Kylee Moore of North East, PA, reportedly grabbed a necklace from the male while accusing him of the theft. The male did not leave the scene and chose to pursue charges for the unwanted physical contact.
As a result, Moore was arrested and charged with Harassment in the Second Degree (PL § 240.26). She was processed and released on an appearance ticket. Moore is scheduled to appear in Town of Westfield Court at a later date to respond to the charge. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
