Deputies say suspect resisted arrest, attempted property damage after alleged assault
(WNY News Now) – OTTO, N.Y. — The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 42-year-old Otto woman Sunday evening following a reported domestic incident that resulted in multiple charges.
Deputies responded to N. Otto Road in the Town of Otto on August 10, 2025, at approximately 8:58 p.m. after receiving reports of a domestic dispute that had occurred nearby. According to investigators, Traci D. Egana allegedly engaged in a physical altercation with her boyfriend, causing injury to him.
Authorities said that during the arrest process, Egana resisted, attempted to break a window, and tried to damage the back of a patrol vehicle. She was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, attempted fourth-degree criminal mischief, and third-degree criminal tampering.
Egana was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Town of Otto Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
