Deputies Say Subject Violated Order of Protection, Held on Out-of-State Warrant
(WNY News Now) – PORTLAND, N.Y. — A routine street check by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of a Portland man late Sunday night.
Deputies reported that around 10:35 p.m. on September 14, 2025, they were conducting a subject check in the Town of Portland when they identified 30-year-old Justin G. Schreier. Following an investigation, deputies determined Schreier had violated an active order of protection, resulting in a criminal contempt charge.
Authorities said Schreier was also charged with aggravated family offense. Further review revealed he was wanted on a warrant from another state.
Schreier was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office for processing. He was later booked into the Chautauqua County Jail, where he is being held for arraignment in Chautauqua County Centralized Arraignment Program Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
