(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown man is facing drunk driving charges after police responded to a complaint of an intoxicated driver at a fast-food drive-through on the city’s west side early Saturday morning.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the 3rd Platoon were dispatched around 12:14 a.m. on September 20, 2025, to the Burger King on Foote Avenue after receiving reports of a disorderly driver in the drive-through lane. When police arrived, the vehicle had already left the scene.

After a brief search, officers located the vehicle on Jamestown’s west side and found the driver, identified as 32-year-old Curtis J. Ashdown, asleep behind the wheel. Police said Ashdown appeared to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated.

Following an investigation, Ashdown was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and Aggravated DWI for having a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .18% or higher.

Ashdown was processed at the Jamestown City Jail before being released with an appearance ticket, in accordance with New York State bail reform laws. He is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
