(WNY News Now) – John J. Kleinfelder, 71, of Mayville, was cited for driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop in the Town of Chautauqua on September 26.
CHAUTAUQUA, NY — On the evening of September 26, 2025, at approximately 9:53 p.m., deputies from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the Town of Chautauqua. The driver, identified as 71-year-old John J. Kleinfelder of Mayville, NY, was investigated for impaired driving.
During the stop, deputies noted that the vehicle had no or inadequate plate lamps. Following standard procedures, Kleinfelder was found to be driving while intoxicated. He was taken into custody and transported to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
Kleinfelder was later released with appearance tickets to appear in the Town of Chautauqua Court to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
