(WNY News Now) – Deputies with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Cassadaga man early Friday after he allegedly returned to private property from which he had been removed.
CASSADAGA, N.Y. — On October 10, 2025, at approximately 1:49 a.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an unwanted individual at a residence in the Village of Cassadaga.
Deputies located the individual, identified as Ian Paquin, 38, of Cassadaga, who was reportedly homeless and had been asked to leave the property. Deputies initially removed Paquin from the scene, but authorities say he returned a short time later.
When deputies attempted to detain him, Paquin allegedly refused to comply with their commands. He was subsequently taken into custody and charged with Criminal Trespass in the Third Degree and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree.
Following his arrest, Paquin was transported to a local hospital for evaluation of issues unrelated to the arrest. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Stockton Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
