(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown woman was taken into custody Thursday evening after an alleged assault and property damage incident on the city’s north side.
JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – On October 9, 2025, at approximately 5:50 p.m., officers from the second platoon of the Jamestown Police Department responded to a report of an unwanted person at a northside address.
Upon investigation, police determined that 27-year-old Jamestown resident Kaisha Diaz had been involved in a physical altercation with another individual. According to officers, Diaz allegedly bit, struck, and attempted to choke the victim during the incident. She also reportedly damaged a window screen before fleeing the scene.
A short time later, officers located Diaz at her residence, where she was taken into custody without further incident. She was charged with Assault in the Third Degree, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree.
Diaz was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where she remains held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
