(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man faces multiple charges after deputies conducted a traffic stop for speeding in the early hours of October 25.
JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Deputies from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office conducted a vehicle and traffic stop around 1:54 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, in the area of Maple Street and Camp Street in the City of Jamestown.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the driver, identified as 24-year-old Jouseph L. Velazquez of Jamestown, was stopped for a speeding violation. During the investigation, deputies determined that the vehicle’s front side windows were non-transparent, constituting an additional violation.
Authorities said that during the course of the stop, Velazquez’s actions led to an additional charge of Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree.
Velazquez was issued appearance tickets for Speed in Zone, Non-Transparent Front Side Windows, and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree. He was released at the scene and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
