(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A 43-year-old Jamestown resident has been charged following a reported stabbing during a fight at a local business.
Jamestown Police said officers from the department’s First Platoon were dispatched to a local business at approximately 12:34 p.m. on December 14, 2025, for a report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival, officers determined that two individuals had been involved in a physical altercation inside the business.
Police allege that during the incident, a third individual, identified as James Morris, 43, stabbed one of the participants. Officers later located Morris a short distance from the scene and took him into custody without incident.

The male victim sustained a large laceration to his arm and was transported to UPMC in Jamestown for medical treatment. He was later transferred to UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pennsylvania, for further care. The victim’s current condition was not released, and their identity is being withheld pending investigation.
Morris was charged with Assault in the First Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, and Menacing in the Second Degree.
He was arraigned in Jamestown City Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
