(WNY News Now) – A 23-year-old Jamestown resident was taken into custody Thursday evening after police responded to a reported domestic dispute at a South East side residence.

The Jamestown Police Department reports that officers from the department’s 2nd Platoon were dispatched to a residence on the city’s South East side at approximately 6:19 p.m. on January 8, 2026, for a physical domestic dispute in progress.

Following an on-scene investigation, officers determined that the suspect, identified as Sven C. Anderson, allegedly held the victim down for an extended period of time and prevented the victim from leaving a bedroom inside the residence.

Anderson, 23, a Jamestown resident, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He has been charged with Unlawful Imprisonment in the Second Degree.

Anderson is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. No further details were released by police at this time. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
