(WNY News Now) – WESTFIELD, NY — A 31-year-old Westfield woman was arrested early Saturday morning following a routine warrant check that led to the discovery of illegal substances, according to local police.
On April 4, 2026, at approximately 1:24 a.m., Westfield Police officers responded to a vehicle parked at 96 E. Main Street in connection with an active arrest warrant issued by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office. Officers made contact with the vehicle’s occupant, identified as Julie L. Kelsey, 31, of Westfield. The warrant was confirmed through county communications.
Kelsey was taken into custody without incident. During a search incident to her arrest, officers reportedly discovered substances that later tested positive for methamphetamine. She was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree.
Kelsey was issued an appearance ticket and a fingerprint appearance ticket for the new charges and was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail on her active warrant. She is scheduled to appear in Town of Westfield Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
