(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A 27-year-old Jamestown man was taken into custody Saturday morning after police responded to a domestic dispute on the city’s north side and discovered he was in violation of an active order of protection.

Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s First Platoon were dispatched at approximately 10:38 a.m. to a Northside residence for a report of an unwanted male. Upon arrival, officers observed Justin A. Conklin exiting the rear of the home.

According to police, Conklin was subject to a valid stay-away order of protection, which prohibited him from being at the residence or having contact with the protected individual. Further investigation revealed that he also had multiple outstanding felony arrest warrants issued by the City of Jamestown related to a similar incident reported the previous day.

Conklin was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He has been charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree in addition to the outstanding warrants.

He is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
