(WNY News Now) – A 27-year-old Jamestown man was arrested after police said a domestic dispute on the city’s north side involved strangulation and an alleged violation of an order of protection.

Jamestown police responded to a residence on the north side of the city around 2:16 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, for a reported domestic dispute.

According to police, an investigation determined that Justin A. Conklin allegedly strangled a victim, causing the person to lose consciousness and suffer physical injuries.

Police said Conklin was also subject to a valid order of protection requiring him to stay away from the victim.

Conklin, a 27-year-old Jamestown resident, was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

He is charged with Aggravated Criminal Contempt, Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, Strangulation in the Second Degree and Assault in the Second Degree.

Conklin was being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

The charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
