Investigators said the shooting occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. on October 14, 2025, near Isabelle Street and Laird Avenue in Buffalo’s Riverside neighborhood.

Rodgers shot Quinones with an illegal firearm, according to prosecutors. Quinones was pronounced dead at the scene.

In July 2026, Rodgers pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree manslaughter, a Class B violent felony. The plea satisfied the indictment, prosecutors said.

Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane credited Detective Joseph Ruggiero and the Buffalo Police Department for their work on the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Chief Christopher S. Safulko of the Major Crimes Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Ryan M. Flaherty of the Homicide Bureau.
