JAMESTOWN – Jamestown native Morgan Johnson is currently a member of the Disney On Ice Worlds of Enchantment Team.
During a phone interview Wednesday morning with WNYNewsNow, Johnson said her journey with Disney has served as a tremendous learning experience.
“I’ve learned so much, really, about myself,” Johnson said. “There’s so many people, I’ve met so many people from other countries as well and learned about their cultures.”

Johnson also said that the shows, themselves, have taught her a lot about how big of an impact the cast has.
“I found what makes me happy, and I love sharing my passion for skating and performing with everybody,” Johnson said. “Some nights, even if it’s not a big crowd, you know you’re touching someone’s life, and I think that’s something that’s really special to me.”
“Our movements and our performances have the power to impact the lives of the people of the audience.”
Johnson said that she auditioned to get a part both live and over tape, and she signed a one-year contract when accepted. Johnson, who started ice skating at age 4, said she hopes to renew her contract at its completion.
Johnson explained that they perform in a new city every week. The show season lasts around eight-to-nine months, and she said she resides in the Jamestown area during the remaining time of the year.
The ice skater said that the team performs warm ups, and other on-ice exercises to stay in shape. Johnson added that a lot of of the skaters also exercise during their free time.
When asked what advice she’d give people who live in the area, Johnson said she’d tell people to strive for their dreams.
“If you have a dream, just go for it,” Johnson said. “Being from Jamestown, it is a small town, but if you work hard and have a determination to do something, go for it.”
“If you put that effort in, you will see results, and you can do whatever you set your mind to.”
