14-Year-Old Arrested In Connection With School Lockdown

ELLICOTTVILLE – A 14-year-old was arrested in connection with a lockdown at Ellicottville Central School Friday morning.

The New York State Police said at 8:00 a.m. the school was locked down after a threatening note was located within the school.

State Police said that no immediate credible threat existed, and the school has been taken from a lockdown to a modified shelter-in-place.


Officals said the lockdown has since been lifted.

Police said the measures were taken for the safety of the students and staff.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office is assisting in this investigation.



Police said this is still an ongoing criminal investigation.
