JAMESTOWN – The South Main Street Bridge in Downtown Jamestown will close next Monday for more construction.

The roadway between Harrison and First Streets will be closed for approximately two weeks.

County officials said crews will finish the top course asphalt paving surface, install a crosswalk for the Riverwalk trail, roadway striping and remaining landscaping. Work has already started with the installation of the cap stones on the bridge walls.

Next week, the work will consist of adjusting manhole covers and utility risers along with miscellaneous milling. This work is being done in preparation for paving the following week. Sidewalks will remain open to pedestrian traffic during the road closure.
