Borrello Officially Kicks Off State Senate Campaign

MAYVILLE – Chautauqua County Executive George Borrello (R) officially kicked off his campaign for New York State’s 57th State Senate District at Webb’s Captain’s Table Restaurant Thursday night.

Borrello stepped into the race after Sen. Cathy Young retired from the Senate to take a position outside of government.

“As my campaign for state Senate gets officially underway, I’d like to thank all the people who encouraged me to run, whether it was by signing my petitions or showing up to this kickoff event,” Borrello said. “I’m running for Senate to provide a needed voice for our hardworking families, our small business owners, farmers and all our residents who feel that too often, their voices go unheard.”

The 57th District consists of Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany Counties and seven towns in Livingston County.

The State’s Democrat Committee threw their support behind 22-year-old political newcomer  Austin T. Morgan, of Freedom.
