JAMESTOWN – Becky Robbins of the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities told WNYNewsNow that BPU crews are responding to repair and eliminate various power outages throughout the city.

Most of the Village of Falconer’s power was restored at around 9:15 p.m. although Robbins said power remains out around Falconer High School on E. Main and beyond.

In Jamestown Scioto, Winsor, Chandler, E. Second between Church and Winsor Streets power was restored.

The Fluvanna Avenue area, where trees brought down power lines, is still in the dark.

Crews are working to restore the rest of Falconer and Fluvanna Avenue.  Most of the reported outages are the result of heavy winds and trees bringing down power lines.

Due to the power outage in Falconer, the BPU’s water pumps at the Cassadaga station were shut off.  Widespread discolored water is expected in BPU water territory for 12-24 hours.
