JAMESTOWN – Conservatives in Jamestown have endorsed Dave Wilfong as their choice for mayor; City of Jamestown Republicans announced Wednesday.
Wilfong is currently the Chairman of the Chautauqua County Republican Party, the Chautauqua County New York State Republican committeeman and currently serves District 11 Chautauqua County Legislator.
“My record as a fiscal Conservative on the Chautauqua County Legislature, has once again earned me the Conservative party endorsement for my campaign as Mayor of Jamestown. We have been able to cut taxes and spending in Chautauqua County and I pledge to do the same as Mayor of Jamestown”, stated Wilfong.
Since 1998, Wilfong has served at the Director of Maintenance for Intandem Solutions, formerly known as the Rehabilitation Center in Olean.
Wilfong boasts many years of supervisory experience, developing capital budgets and working within approved budgets, and directed the cost-efficient maintenance of 23 agency sites.
“I am also a social conservative and have supported the repeal of the Safe Act, campaigned against Common Core, and believe we must do more to stop the rise of illegal immigration into our Country”, said Wilfong.
“My record shows that I have the most experience of any candidate running for Mayor, that I can work collaboratively with others and across party lines, and that I have proper temperament to make Jamestown great again”, Wilfong added.
Wilfong is married to the former Beth Gustafson and they have three children. He is a lifelong resident of Jamestown and is a veteran of the United States Army.
The candidate was previously endorsed as the Republican Candidate for City of Jamestown Mayor. He will face challenger Andy Liuzzo in the June 25 primary election.
