PORTLAND – Water crews in the Town of Portland are continuing to seek the source of a massive water leak that started Tuesday.

The Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services issued a boil water order for all water customers in the Village of Brocton and Town of Portland Thursday.

Health officials said all water used for drinking and cooking must be boiled first.

Mandatory water use restrictions also remain in effect until further notice.

Officials say water pressure in several areas have dropped. Some customers may not have water service at all.

The NYS Rural Water Association and Jamestown Board of Public Utilities are now assisting crews in locating the source of the leak.
