LITTLE VALLEY – Three new COVID-19 related deaths were reported in Cattaraugus County on Thursday, bringing the county’s death toll to 50.

The Cattaraugus County Health Department says an 80-year-old man, 57-year-old man and 90-year-old man all developed respiratory failure and were unable to overcome their illnesses.

There have been 23 COVID-19 related deaths reported in the county in December.

Health officials also reported 79 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the county’s total to 2,565 with 504 active.

The county’s seven-day average infection rate is up to 9.9 percent; with 46 hospitalizations.

Of the total cases, 2,011 have recovered.
