LITTLE VALLEY – Two more deaths linked to COVID-19 complications were reported in Cattaraugus County over the weekend.

The County Health Department on Sunday announced an 84-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman died from respiratory failure.

The county also reported 48 new cases of the virus over the weekend, with 27 on Saturday and 21 on Sunday.


There are now 505 cases active with 50 people hospitalized. The county’s seven-day average infection rate is down from last week at 6.8 percent.

Since the pandemic began there have been 3,317 cases reported with 2,780 people recovering and 18 related deaths.
