GENESEE – An Allegany County woman is facing several counts of animal cruelty charges after allegedly neglecting to care for dogs, ducks and chickens living at her property.

New York State Police worked with Allegany County SPCA Investigators on the case over the weekend.

They say 27-year-old Nicole Peters allegedly malnourished and neglected the animals at a residence on Deer Creek Road in the Town of Genesee.

Peters was arrested and arraigned on nine counts of failure to provide sustenance and neglect of impounded animal in Amity Town Court on Saturday.

Police say she was later released on her own recognizance.

It is unclear if the animals were removed from the property.
