Jamestown Woman Charged After Allegedly Beating Her Dog Piece Of Wood

JAMESTOWN – A 42-year-old Jamestown woman is facing animal cruelty charges after allegedly beating her dog with a piece of wood.

Officers with the Jamestown Police Department responded to a Benedict Avenue residence after receiving a complaint early Saturday morning.

Witnesses on scene allege Nancie Gerrish struck her dog with a 2×4 piece of wood.


Gerrish was arrested and charged with overdriving, torturing and/or injuring an animal.

Police say the dog has since been taken to a local veterinary clinic for evaluation.
